Is this a…:
Standard bug Steps to reproduce this issue:
Merging two segment using Delete key doesn’t work anymore.
Deletion of a segment using the Delete key doesn’t work anymore.
Issues occurs since WME version v2.275-8-g234108496.
Merging and deletion via Garbage can icon still works.
Tested in both The Netherlands and China.
And yes, Delete key does work for remove fi. characters in a text.
I tried again in Chrome but not in incognito. I disabled Tampermonkey and Toolbox. So basically the same as incognito for me. This time I was able to duplicate the issue.
My gut feeling is it is a local storage issue or something but I can’t figure it out.
@jm6087 I tested in the same area, but was not able to reproduce the bug. I’m also wondering if this is related to a specific OS… For now, this seems to be quite random. The videos demonstrating how you try to recreate the bug are very helpful! I added you examples to the internal ticket.
I would just like to check whether you are still experiencing this issue on your end. I have just checked again and the “Delete” key works just fine on my Windows device (tried deleting segments and nodes). Just a reminder for those of you who switch between different operating systems: on MAC OS it has to be paired with the “Fn” key.
The Delete key still doesn’t work to delete a connecting node between two segment.
If you want to join two segment you have to use the garbagebin symbol .
Just in case this may help anyone here having this issue:
After some investigation and realising the delete key works just fine for me on a different browser, I have noticed my ‘delete’ keyboard shortcut in the local storage was set to the ‘-1’ key, i.e. unbound. After manually setting the value back to ‘0,46’ (46 is the Del key) the shortcut works again. This shortcut is not visible in the editor so would be difficult to notice otherwise.
I’m not sure what caused this key to be unbound but it may have been due to a WME/script update in the last few months.
