Deleted non-existent traffic camera

Hi,
I didn’t think to check who had created it, but I thought I should mention - I got rid of a non-existent red light camera (or as Calgary calls them “Intersection Safety Camera” ) on NB Métis at 128 Av NE. I drive that road five times a week and there is definitely not a camera there.

I think a lot of people mistake the cameras that sense when traffic is present for red light/violation cameras. In case anyone is unclear on what I’m talking about, violation cameras are typically on a dedicated post set back from the intersection about 15 meters, either in the center median or the right shoulder. Most often it will have a large box (about 40cm to a side) where the camera is housed, and a flash device mounted higher on the pole. The other type of camera is a closed circuit TV type camera and there will be multiple of them, most often on top of the signal (red/yellow/green) fixture, or nearby, sighting down each lane or group of lanes. The way these work is they store a picture of an “empty” intersection when they are first installed, and constantly compare what they’re receiving with that stored image. If the images differ, there must be a vehicle present, and they trigger the signals to cycle.

Is there a way to add red light cameras to the Waze map? I always see the option to remove but never to add.

I presume it’s a higher-level editor privilege. I’m a level 3 and I don’t see an add option either.
