These images are of the same street but at opposite ends:
Both were taken by Street View in the same year and month.
Not the first time I’ve encountered this, unfortunately. :roll:
How should this street be named?
Is there a name on the pavement in SV; this comes from Google Maps. As it’s within the WME we are licensed to use it. These aren’t always 100% accurate.
I would set that one as the Primary and the other one as the ALT.
It is also a case where verification of the provided data with QLDGlobe is worth checking.
We can’t use QLDGlobe as a source as we can’t comply with its Creative Commons license.
Yes, it’s labeled as ‘Myrtle Av’ in Google Maps.

I’ll check that out. But it seems the councils installing these signs can’t decide which it will be. I drove out to inspect a street a couple of years ago for this same issue. The road was only 30m long, but had different street types on each sign. :roll:

Theoretically there is an official name. People need to know how to address mail, etc.
real estate websites sometimes offer info on price history for a street.
There is no guarantee they use the official name because it’s oftwen user submitted address data.
