Hello @brikowski ,

Thank you for your report! I have filed an internal ticket to investigate the issue. Please stay tuned for further updates.

Have a nice day!
Olesya

Hi @Olesya-Staff
Could you please ask responsible team:
Is it possible to delete all results of his merging in the country? Is it possible disable his activity in the country?

Unfortunately, it brings more problems with duplicates than helps and editors manually delete his mistakes. And it’s difficult after disabling functionality in PIE

‘matching feed’ bot links wrong and duplicated places

The bot links locations of external providers with similar names but they are actually different stores or are branches of a big company.

Here in my country (Paraguay) we have a lot of gas stations with similar names like Petrobras, Petrosur, Petrochaco, Petropar, etc. ‘matching feed’ thinks that they are the same place en merge all of Google Maps places in only one Waze place or linked duplicated places.

This issue also occurs with many stores and places like Drugstores, Schools with the same name but located kilometers away, Churches. I will show a few examples but there are thousands of them all over the map and all over the country.

Two Petrosur gas stations 500 meters away, 'matching feed linked both

Here ‘matching feed’ links one gas station named “Corona” and an Hotel named “Hotel Corona Suites” only one word shares this two places but the bot thinks they are the same place.

As I said before, there are thousands of places with this issue.

Edit:
Thanks to the PIE Script and that the feature that shows duplicated places is back we can detect this issue easily.

Hello @Jorge-RC

Thank you for the detailed report and instances of mismatched places. Your examples have been added to the internal ticket.

We understand this is a widespread issue with matching feed incorrectly merging similar businesses. Thank you once again for bringing it to our attention. We are prioritising this issue and will share an update when we have more information.

Best regards,
Olesya

Is this a…:
Standard bug
Steps to reproduce this issue:
Can you please stop the matching feed from adding Google Venues to parking lots while the Google venue is already linked to the correct Waze Place?
Here is one of the dosen examples I have corrected recently.

Are you using scripts? Please detail which ones.:

Few examples:
Waze Place
PLA with wrongly added Google venue to PLA

Waze Place
PLA with wrongly added Google Venue

Waze PLace
PLAs with wrongly added Google Venue

Waze Place
PLA with wrongly added Google Venue

If you need more let me know.

I can confirm this is happening in T&T as well. With this happening, if there are 2 or more linked google places, the data from google doesn’t populate on Waze e.g ratings, opening hours etc.

Hi @Leorenaud

Many thanks for adding your examples. So just to be clear, were the links added by matching feed wrong matches or duplicates?

The reason I’m asking is that currently we have got two different issues caused by matching feed - wrong (mismatched) linking and duplicate linking (the topmost example would be duplicate linking whereas Jorge-RC’s examples would be mismatched linking).

Best regards,
Olesya

Hello @AdamB1995

Thank you for your input.
Would you be able to share any PLs so we can add your examples to to our internal report?

Best regards,
Olesya

My issue is about linking the same Google place to multiple Waze Places.
In these cases all parking lots with the Waze Place name in it as name: [P] Waze place.

Correctly added Google Venue to Waze place
Wrongly added Google Venue to Waze Place PLA
Another Wrongly added Google Venue to Waze Place PLA

Here is one e.g: https://waze.com/en-US/editor?env=row&lat=10.42128&lon=-61.45327&marker=true&zoomLevel=18&venues=195625064.1956578322.14481378

I also encountered updates where there is a number rather than a user at locations as well.

https://waze.com/en-US/editor?env=row&lat=10.41997&lon=-61.43250&marker=true&zoomLevel=19&venues=195690600.1956709394.13032386

Thank you for clarifying @Leorenaud much appreciated. I have added your examples to the internal ticket.

Best regards,
Olesya

Many thanks @AdamB1995
I have updated the internal ticket with your example.

Olesya

Hey @Olesya-Staff, here is an e.g of 2 places being linked. I believe that one of the place is an actual place and the other is a building.
