Editing Hardware

Oh my pipay! Duling nanaman sa editing! A fifteen inch lap top is not good for a guy with four eyes especially after reading a pile of documents  So who among you has a kick ass set up used in editing? I would sometimes do it on my home office computer with the 32 inch screen but I’d rather edit most of the time in bed

My home desktop:

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core
CPU Cooler: Antec KUHLER H2O 920 110.0 CFM Liquid
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600
Storage: Crucial M500 120GB 2.5" SSD - System
Seagate Barracuda 250GB 3.5" 7200RPM - Storage old
Seagate Barracuda ES.2 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM - Storage new
Video Card : Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower
Case Fan: 4X Cooler Master R4-C2R-20AC-GP 69.0 CFM 120mm
Power Supply: Cooler Master 620W ATX12V
Optical Drive: Lite-On IHBS112-04 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Professional (64-bit)
Monitor: AOC E2236VW 21.5" - Main
Toshiba 32" LED LCD - Dual screen
Keyboard: Logitech Wireless Combo MK270 w/Optical Mouse

When mobile:
Asus K55VD Inte Core i7 15.5"

15.5" monitor does not have enough real estate on the screen for Waze map editing but it’s enough if you need a map editing fix

Huwa! Not only a good cartographer, computer whiz pa! 2 monitors, I’d like to see that set up. Kaya pala malawak ang na-eedit at puwedeng multi-area at the same time. I can’t even remember whats inside this mid tower case of mine. All I can remember is that it is a Cooler Master Nvidia edition with a whole shebang of Cooler Master, Nvidia, Intel, Corsair and Seagate stuff put inside when I got it years back during a trip to the U.S. What got me is the green light they were able to put inside the case… heh heh heh. Most of the time for editing I use the MacBook Pro.

yan ang mga luwded

I retired my 6 year old desktop and built a new one when it became too slow for map editing

Heh heh heh… hindi po loaded, entry level lang ang specs. Mahal nang tower case. For clerical and document work lang kasi. Mukhang sa inyo ang well thought of na set-up.

Adding my entry here: Macbook Air 11 inch. I’ve done most of my edits on this machine. I wish to have a desktop and 3 displays for maximum visbility.

still waiting for santa…

Dream mobile rig is a top-of-the-line Alienware 18 and 4x 28" 4k display on my desktop

Any recommendations for a rig that can fit in my pocket?

Last Saturday I was looking for a gaming mouse with programmable buttons, and of course I would program Waze editing shortcuts to those buttons. However, I couldn’t find any that was to my liking so I ended up buying another two sticks of 8GB RAM. Now my system has 32GB of physical RAM. The only bottleneck now is my DSL speed which is still at 5mbps

I use an ASUS ROG G750JS gaming laptop. I retired my old MSI GT780 just a month ago. The 17.3" screen really helps. Specifically for map editing, I connect a 23" LED panel for dual screen purposes. But in my opinion the hardware is just half of it(i.e. map editing), the other half is internet connection. Without a blazing fast access to the web, your map edits will be crawling their way up to the map server.

wow! that’s a monster of a machine you got there! im just using a lenovo Y410p. it’s good enough for editing purposes =)[emoji335]
