What’s new in Waze
School Zones and Scheduler
Two major features are now live in WME and the Waze App: School Zones and Scheduler! Editors can now map school zones to alert drivers as they enter, promoting safer driving near schools. With the Scheduler, editors can set specific timeframes for alerts, ensuring they appear when most relevant. Learn more.

Community Achivements
Supporting NYC new Congestion Relief Zone
Our amazing NYC community members collaborated with Waze’s routing team and local partners to ensure the app supports the city’s new Congestion Relief Zone (CRZ). Over many months, phases, changes, and delays they mapped and tested the zone’s toll routes and rates structure, including adding new functionality to the Toll Tool. Huge shoutout for the complex efforts you made to help reduce traffic in the busiest part of Manhattan!
LA Fires
Community members in Los Angeles sprang into action during the LA Fires, even while some were evacuating, themselves! Editors from Hawaii jumped in to assist and together, with Waze partners, they mapped ±5,000 closures, 195 evacuation zones, and 32 emergency shelters, alerting over 2.5M drivers. A huge thank you for providing drivers real-time updates during this devastating crisis. Become a Waze First Responder.
