There is only 1 Bangor Retail Park mapped, all others have different names so this should be used for the EVCS name. I will add some more when I’m not at work, but we can’t list every possible example so some lateral thinking by the editor is required.
NB re PodPoint AC chargers, the ones I’ve looked at are all recorded in the feed as the number of units. These are often the free-standing pedestal type which have 2 separate plugs per post and two parking spaces so I’ve recorded them as “Problem” in the spreadsheet, commenting that the number in column K [Number of CS] needs doubling.
Sorry - I’m not trying to be awkward. My point was that I’m trying to use lateral thinking in that I’m not sure of the value of adding “Bangor Retail Park” to the average user. If I saw that in a list on Waze I’d be thinking “which one is that?”, hence my suggestion that adding SportsDirect might be more informative if technically inaccurate.

This one doesn’t appear to be on the spreadsheet. It exists, just needs moving slightly - but I’m not going to touch it just yet because I’m not clear whether we should be approving stations which aren’t on the GSheet…
As instructed I’ve approved the PUR but not sure what to do now. Sorry if I’ve missed anything but haven’t had time to read through all 5 pages. Does this need to be corrected by me/us or added to the spreadsheet of errors?
You should move it to the best guess location, if you have to move and save twice due to the distance then so be it.
Have you read the Wazeopedia page regarding naming and actions to use on the Sheet, as all actions including simple approval need to be logged on the Sheet, in this case a comment regarding moving it a significant distance
As with mapping any place in WME you should use the factual information, if the location is a single business use that name, if the location is a retail park then the name should reflect that. EVCS have a field to note location in venue (last-metre info) where you can write “located in front of SportsDirect”.
I’ve approved this location and noted the incorrect details, we are unable to update any of the plug details yet in WME
Can I suggest we don’t fill this thread with PURs to approve, adding Map Comments around local stations with information is sufficient for when an L4+ editor gets around to reviewing the PUR
If the PUR has already been approved there should be a mapped Place at the location, ensure you have the Places layer turned on with Venues ticked.
We were told that the current 25,000 PURs was from 1 feed provider and Waze will be adding more feed providers at a later date, if you want to map the ECVS that doesn’t have a PUR then go ahead but listing them here will only drive us a little mad as we already have enough to get on with at this time.
Thank you for the information. I will leave it for the time being as i don’t want to risk a mistake especially with this project. Keep up the good work all!
Just an observation from a bit of work in South Wales. For example, look at this car park - Permalink
The Clenergy station PUR was within a yard or 2 of the right place in the car park, but they’re showing up as a single device but there are 2 marked spaces and it looks like 2 sockets on the pod. Indeed, Streetview shows 2 cars taking on juice.
In contrast, I can’t see the Swarco eConnect charger on Streetview (could be newer than the May image?) but the address given is wrong for the location and possibly doesn’t exist? I think I’ve seen other Swarco ones on the map that I couldn’t find. As I said, I’m not on the ground and relying on Streetview, but…

Just checking that for when a charge point is in a Morrisons for example, I’m ok to use “Morrisons” in the street field, rather than the street name for the store. Similarly to how I would put ‘Meadowhall Retail Park’ in the street field for Sports Direct.
I think this is easier for people to identify where it is rather than just the road it is closest to, which is how it is set initially when imported from the feed.
Another good example is where there’s 2 charging stations within Meadowhall Shopping Centre. Rather than have them both with exactly the same address (Meadowhall Way, Carbrook, Sheffield), I’ve set one to Orange Car Park and the other to Green Car Park.
@MrSoapsud, Have you looked at Swarco’s network map :?: The location on their website says coming soon. Therefore I would leave the unapproved and place a Map Comment over them so other editors do not reject them. You might wish to mark the Sheet as Problem and leave a comment as to why.
@titchy, you should be placing Morrisons in the name of the EVCS, the address can then be the listed road name.
As for Meadowhall, you have the location in venue to give last-metre details such as where it is located. Or even name it Provider name - Meadowhall Orange Car Park, assuming the car park is named as such.
