now we created a randomly named team and we all joined (when we can find it in the list… some people search and it never shows up on iphones)… and then I show only groups… but that force all of us to not join any other group as that would “taint” our friends only map…
any ideas?
No. You have to use Facebook to add friends. If you don’t want to have Waze linked to a personal facebook account, you could always set up a fake Facebook account with no personal info and just the name Gcbwaz Waze and invite people to friend you so you can get your bonuses and track others on the scoreboard.

No. That isn’t possible at all.
In upcoming versions, you’ll be able to do meetups with friends and “come to me” type stuff but that isn’t implemented just yet. That does require a Facebook link though.
