we are able to use waze without vpn in china, but not able to edit well (without google earth support).
as i know, only few services would be returned, but still under intranet connection. china government would not give full permission to google right now.
I heard most of the time they need VPN but occasionally it’s OK and depend on the area too.
Google earth? Do you mean Google street view?
searching is perform better with vpn when using waze.
street view is not support well in editor, i meant satellite view, i believe it uses same core with google earth, tell me if i were wrong.

My understanding is Google search will be included when vpn is used, so it’ll get better result.
Sure you wouldn’t get GSV. China government will not allow Google Cars running around the country :mrgreen: If you need street view, you can try baidu map.
It’s not wrong but I found the images in google earth is more up-to-date.

Not sure. If you use Google map with vpn on your phone and search a place or street, will you get any results?
