I want to hear the Waze through my phone, not, my car stereo bluetooth connection. I cannot figure out how to turn the option off. I have my phone set so only calls are supposed to go to the Uconnect, not media. I can’t find any option in Waze to adjust.
Oh, I have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus running Ice Cream Sandwich (ie, Android 4.x)
In you phone settings under Bluetooth, go to your paired device and un-select Media audio. Your phone will still come through Bluetooth but all media will still route through phone.
The one option iOS should have had by now.
Did that already. I’m not getting audio through the car, but the app still seems to think it should go to bluetooth. When I try to adjust the volume it shows the bluetooth symbol and does not “speak” through my phone.
When I search “support” I get this:
Is Waze compatible with Bluetooth?
Yes, to use Waze with Bluetooth go to Settings >> General >> turn off the option Always play sound to phone speaker.
But that option isn’t there – I figured I’d make sure it’s turned on. When I go to Settings >> General, I see:
Language
Nav Guidance
Unit
Event Radius
Keep Back Light On
and that’s it.
Did you try looking under Settings->Sound?
