Issue with forum - users gone missing

Hi guys
we’re aware of an issue where some users have lost their forum account.
Still not sure how exactly it happened.
If you lost your account, you can log in to your dashboard and hit ‘update’ (no need to change any details), and that will recreate your forum account. However, all previous forum data (such as posts) will not be restored. Tomorrow we’ll be able to look into it and trace the issue, and hopefully bring back the missing data.

Wow, that’s weird.

So it was more than just perlin’s account.

I disappeared.

and me… :!:

thanks for the update “trick”

Hopefully Waze finds the root cause quickly. Losing posts is bad.

I suppose the product that is being used for the forums is being maintained and updated to the newer releases as they become available?

I wouldn’t bank on it - we had to fight last year for it to be updated so that Tapatalk would work properly!

This at the same time I am see road edits reverted to months ago all over the place. Coincidence? You’d hope they are unrelated. :?

Yikes…

Include me in the list of users that got deleted. And I think a few of my edits were reverted but not many (I hope). I’ve already fixed the couple that I saw.

I have account working but I have lost permission to see other member profiles. This means that I can’t send PM any more (because user search does not work). Also friends list is unmanageable now. “Update” button did not make any change for me.

Cougar

The member profiles have been removed because it was making the forum unstable.

You can still send PMs by typing in their name in the Compose Message screen.

Actually, Ori responded with 1 (one) answer “we disabled this option as it caused major instability problems” (which one?) to 2 (two) ‘questions’ “forum memberlist is off” and “user details are off”, without any further details.

IMHO these were two things are pretty separate functionalities and using member profiles should have had nothing in common with populating a list of members. If it indeed had, I leave it as an exercise for readers to guess, what should have been fixed or disabled.
