Issue with Roundabout

Hey,

Seems to be an unusual issue with this roundabout.
When approaching the roundabout from Milnrow Rd, Waze says to take the 1st or 2nd exit (depending on which way you are going), but when entering from either end of Smithybridge Rd you get told to turn left/right, or go straight on.

Can someone explain whats going on here?

There is nothing wrong with this roundabout.

You get ‘simple’ instruction when the angles of the roads are very near 90 degrees to each other (within +/-15 degs I think). You get exit numbers when the angles are outside of this range.

Understanding navigation instructions (Roundabouts)

I understand that. What I don’t get is that from Milnrow Rd to Smithybridge gives a “Take the 1st/2nd exit” prompt, but going the other way (exactly the same junctions, just in the opposite direction, so the same angles), gives a “turn left/right” instruction.

Edit: Having read the link wiki article, it does make more sense now, but the way the way this roundabout is configured doesnt quite sit right with me (I prefer consistency).
If I were giving someone instructions, I would say “turn left/right at the roundabout” so I think a small edit might be in order.

To make it consistent you’d have to shift the entire roundabout NE (away from Milnrow Rd).

If you can wait until the scripts are updated so you can turn them on & off you might find the following useful.

WME RA Util

WME Roundabout Angles

I already have the RA Util script installed and just installed the Roundabout Angles script now (but doesnt appear to work at all [in Chrome] at the moment).
Milnrow Rd is locked to Level 4 so will be ages before I can edit the roundabout unless I request an unlock. I’ll wait until the scripts iare updated, and/or I have a bit more time on my hands.

Thanks for your help Chris.
