Level4/5 to L1 Unlock: British Columbia - Saanich (Highway 17 SB ramp/McKenzie Ave)

Reason: McKenzie Ave eastbound incorrectly has a bus lane restriction. There is no bus lane heading eastbound.
Also, heading southbound on the Highway 17 ramp, there is a bus lane at the signal. The car lane is marked as a left-turn lane, so the through movement from the southbound ramp is not permitted. However, it seems to be permitted in the map editor.

Thank you!

Thanks for the catch - appears I made the change too :see_no_evil:,
Guess it looked like it was a transit priority lane for the transfer point on that pedestrian island.

I’ve removed the restriction, along with tweaked the lane guidance as the forth lane for the NB access doesn’t technically start until after the SB ramp.
So drivers for NB will get a silent (visual only) prompt as they approach the SB ramp junction to keep in the third lane (second from the right) and then once they pass the junction, they will be given the normal/usual prompt to use the right lane to Hwy 17 N.

If that sounds good - feel free to mark thread as resolved.

Thanks for the changes!
Could the lane guidance for the SB off-ramp also be adjusted? There is only one car lane on the ramp, which is marked as a left-turn lane.
The map editor currently shows it as having two lanes, with the left (car) lane being able to go left and straight, while it shows a right-lane that goes straight (which is a marked and signed bus lane).Screenshot 2024-06-07 170754.jpg

Thanks!

So what I’m doing is a bit of a hack to get Lane Guidance to show “all lanes” but only highlight the actual movement.Screenshot 2024-06-07 171518.jpg

Lane guidance with non-highlighted bus

Though maybe if go this route, then it should be a non-highlighted centre lane and should include the right slip-lane into the full guidance. So it shows as three lanes, and highlighted for the guidance of its navigation path. Let me know what you think.

Ahh, I see! It is sort of a weird lane setup. As technically, the bus lane is to be accessed via right turn lane, then the bus veers left into it. Whereas there is a solid line the entire distance between the left lane (cars) and the middle lane (buses), so it technically isn’t even an option for cars in the left lane.

As long as private cars aren’t routed to go straight through from the off-ramp, then it should be okay!

Hi @BryceCampbell,

So I think it looks okay now. Although on my end it shows up a bit weird on WME. The left-turn onto McKenzie Ave shows up as the thru movement, while the prohibited thru movement onto the Hwy 17 South ramp shows up as the left turn.Screenshot 2024-06-15 153653.jpg

I added a “transit only” restriction to the through movement, so since Waze doesn’t have a transit vehicle option, drivers won’t get routed through and the LG will always show the straight lane greyed out.
(the left lane will be the only active LG)Screenshot 2024-06-15 154235.jpg

Okay, that’s good then. Thanks!
