Hey Wazers,
We’d like to share some improvements to the Waze Livemap on waze.com. You’ll see these changes roll out gradually depending on your environment: starting with IL today followed by NA and ROW the upcoming weeks.
The changes aim to improve your overall experience on Waze Livemap, to enjoy faster, clearer, and more consistent map.
What changes should you expect?
- Faster Loading and Smoother Zooming: We’ve optimized the way map tiles are generated, making them load faster and reducing clutter at different zoom levels.
- Enhanced Street Names: Street names will appear gradually as you zoom in, providing clarity without overwhelming the map.
- Improved Venue Visibility: Zooming out will now display prominent venues, addressing issues where some were previously missing. Water features will also appear more accurately.
- No More Cut-Off Labels: We’ve fixed bugs that resulted in labels being cut off at the map’s edge.
- Consistent Style: The map will have a unified look across all regions with consistent colors, fonts, and element widths.
- Seamless Transitions: We’re working on smoother transitions as you drag the map between different areas.
