Ln Vs Lane

Hi All,

Before anyone suggests I read the wiki I have and do all the time while editing the map. https://www.waze.com/wiki/Abbreviations_%26_Acronyms_(Australia) shows that Lane should be abbreviated to Lane, yet common enough to make me want to post this question I see Name Ln.

Is the list of Abbreviations hard and fast as the only abbreviations that Waze can understand or does Ln work and get translated to Lane in spoken instructions?

If Ln is support, I’m happy to update the Wiki as appropriate.

If you abbreviate boulevard as Blvd, TTS will pronounce it correctly, if you use Bvd it will not. TTS will say Lane for La, Ln and Lane.

Thankyou to you both for the explanation. Any objections to me adding the ‘Lane’ abbreviations to the wiki?

No, objections, we would have to decide which one to use to keep things consistant. I say Ln but lets have some more people have a say as well. :slight_smile:
