As I understand it the current correct abbrev of Lane is Lane.
I came across a new street with the abbrev of La.
Anyone seen that before? I guess we continue with Lane.
Don’t have access to the paywalled AS/NZS 4819:2011 but figure that hasn’t changed since the wiki entry.
I’ve seen it used before but it’s incorrect. TTS does not pronounce ‘La’ correctly.
Ln works as Lane however.
According to the wiki, AS/NZS 4819:2011 does not abbreviate Lane. The global wiki says that Ln is functional, so it would be good if the Australia wiki could be changed to support this.
While Ln is functional, we do not abbreviate Lane. That is what we should use, and nothing else, until the wiki has been amended. Our Australian Wiki comes before the Global guidance.
Figured it was local council or developer doing whatever they liked. I mean a neighbouring street is Executive Way. sigh.
