Hey VT Editors, i’m a L2 from down in NJ. Did a recent trip up to Burlington and found that Route 7 is undergoing some major construction in both North and South directions causing delays for an extended period of time, over the next year at least. After talking to some truckers and doing some map routing myself, drove backroads on my travels South to avoid the 30-45minute traffic delay.
Thank you for the posting. This is a challenging one as this appears to be more construction/traffic issue than a road closure. In theory waze should detect the traffic building up and offer an alternative route such as spear street. However with the long term nature of this project I will escalate it to see if there is anything else we can do.
Also feel free to PM me if you would like the invite link for the VT GHO.
John, thanks for the response. Yeah, after I posted, said the same thing to myself that Waze will just redirect to Mount Philo Rd. or another sort if traffic is detected at the time of travel.
Yes the only question I am looking into is the pruning that could occur. My philo is a street but spear street is a PS. So while I do think that waze should do its job identify traffic and rerouted I am curious is there examples where the route may not see the alternative roads due to pruning and ignoring lower types of roads.
