Los Angeles CA - Level 3 Unlock

The turn restrictions are set incorrectly at the northern junction of this segment:

From either of the connecting segments of Via Marisol, it should be allowed to turn onto the northbound ramp onto SR-110 N. I will fix this if someone would like to unlock the segment for me.

In order for you to change an arrow, you need access to both the ‘from’ segment and the ‘to’ segment.

The segment you selected for unlocking had the straight through traffic ‘forbidden’ correctly.

That is to prevent ‘off/on’ routing. See http://www.waze.com/wiki/index.php/Limited_Access_Interchange_Style_Guide#Diamond_Interchange

The segments that NEED changing are NOT locked, so you should be able to fix them.

All turn restrictions for all connected segments at a junction are locked whenever even one of the connected segments is locked. This is documented. Believe me, I tried changing the turn restrictions from the two unlocked segments that need it, and to no avail. That was how and why I discovered and then permalinked the above locked segment. I am aware of the need for the straight-through restriction from ramp to ramp, to prevent the client from routing people off and back onto the freeway.

Ok. Unlocked.

Thank you very much! The restrictions are fixed now. Any chance I could talk you into re-locking it for me?

done.

You could have locked it at your level. That would have protected it from WAZE making changes.

Thanks. I do lock things sometimes, but where a higher level editor has previously locked something, I’m unsure of whether the reason was to keep Waze from making automated changes, or because there has been a history at the junction or segment of inexperienced editors changing something over and over. Anyway, I appreciate you posting the link to the wiki. Every time something like this is discussed in the forums, it creates a greater chance that people who are learning will find it when searching for answers.

Oh, and happy new year to you!

May your WAZE be smooth this year!
