Make a Difference: Become an MTE Marshall

TL;DR

Apply to get an opportunity to become an MTE Marshalls

—---------------------------------

Hey all,

We hope you had a good wind down 2025 with your families and friends

As you know, our ‘Traffic Events’ program keeps on growing with a lot of events supported every day around the globe thanks to you!

In order to grow even more and provide our users with the best hyperlocal experience when it comes to traffic events, we rely heavily on our ‘Community MTE Marshalls’ in countries we have them. We have checked and found that there are a lot of countries where we have no MTE Marshalls and we are missing a great opportunity to collaborate with you, and share our great future plans for this role.

What are the responsibilities of the MTE Marshall?

  • Traffic Events’ Management: Upload and manage end to end events in a specific country

  • Main POC: Act as the main point of contact for the Waze Traffic events & Closures Team, helping with complex local traffic event information ensuring high quality data. This includes validating closure details, confirming local terminology, and ensuring precise segments and polygon boundaries for rapid implementation of events.

  • Recruitment and support: Recruit new editors to submit Traffic Events and to share event information on the map and provide them with support as events/ closures experts

  • Feedback & Alignment: Cascade new program updates to the rest of the community and gathering structured community feedback on tools and processes to be shared back with HQ

  • Outreach: Collaborate with Waze Partners and/ or event organizers who are not Waze Partners to share event info

Who can apply for the role?

  • Editors L4 and above

  • There is no limitation to the number of MTE Marshalls per country

  • Can be with or without another role in the community
