Mapping of Walking Trails

Looking at many of the maps near my routes recently I’ve seen a lot of walking trails being added. WME Validator flags these as errors with “non drivable connected to drivable”.

A good example location would be here (with Validator installed and active it shows many trails):

When I’ve found these I’ve been disconnecting the trails from the drivable roads per Wiki guidance:

Is there any updated guidance I’ve missed or a specific initiative in progress to add in walking trails which means I’m taking the wrong action?

Hi,

I suspect that this is being done by those junior editor who have little else to map or work on. Either because of road locks or permissions.
Much like roads for every lane in car parks, forests etc.

There are arguments both ways. Their presence shows a level of completeness to the map so users know that most everything needed to be mapped has been.
If connected incorrectly without restrictions, pedestrians need to look out for fast moving Wazers being directed down them! Hence they should not really be connected to the road network (at least until Waze has a way of completely blocking road users going down pedestrian trails/paths.
