Hi
Is this walking trail necessary? It could be as it looks like there is a car park in there, but some of it is locked so I can’t do much with it…

If it’s necessary I’ll put an unlock req in, if it’s not… can someone with it in their editable area delete it (it’s on the cusp of the area I can edit)
thanks
Hi,
Currently that sort of trail is not of much use to anyone as Waze doesn’t allow for (or calculate for) pedestrians.
Some day in the future when Waze decide to add that sort of functionality they may be.
I can’t do much with then either as it is out of my area… For the time being…

The one obvious use at present is that, by having the trails (and other non-driveable tracks visible in the aerial imagery) drawn in by someone who knows what they’re doing, it makes the map look complete in that area. Hopefully this would then deter less experienced editors from coming along, seeing the tracks/paths etc in the aerial imagery without any corresponding segments in the Waze data, and drawing them all in along with their connections to the driveable road network…
Hi,
Theoretically, of course, Waze should NOT be routing people down what itself classifies as non-drivable routes!..
But hey, this ain’t a perfect world yet…

In this case, I’d leave them alone and PM the editor to validate the trail but not to connect to any drivable segments.
