First, I would really like to thank you all for taking the time and joining us on the French meetup in Paris!
We had a great time and we surely hope you found it helpful and productive as we did.
During the meetup we took notes of all the issues you brought up. Here’s a follow-up of the items discussed.
General

- Request: Close the list of cities and disable adding new cities from the editor.
- Answer: Possible and DONE

- Request: What should users do if they have external data that they want to add to the map?
- Answer: Just send it to the community manager. He/she will check with the legal department if we can use it. If we can - we still might need some time before we have the resources to implement.

- Request: Make a list of Features enabled by country (gas stations, toll roads)
- Answer: Good idea. We will post it in the localization forum.
Routing

- Request: Add navigation that is based on toll road rates, for example: select the less expensive route even if it takes a few more minutes.
- Answer: such a feature is not planned at the moment. However, in v.4.0 we will add a toggle for toll roads directly to the route results. This way you will be able to easily switch from results with and without toll roads.

- Question: there are many missing tiles in the client.
- Answer: we need logs in order to debug this issue.
FR Enforcement zones

- Request: Add a vocal announcement when the user is leaving the enforcement zone, now there is only a visual alert.
- Answer: The product team accepted the request and we will try to add it to 3.9.
Editor

- Request: Auto-lock segments with closures.
- Answer: When adding a closure - the segment will be blocked for editing (not level - lock - complete lock). Only the closures part will be editable.

- Question: there’s a problem with closed map problems that are often reopened on the map
- Answer: We need more examples. In the examples we received so far - the problem was still present on the map and it was therefore reopened.

- Request: In the regression tool that has been introduced - can we make an alert for un-edited (un-validated) segments that are being connected to the map?
- Answer: Yes, we will do it.

- Question: What about the city -> neighbourhood hierarchy?
- Answer: We’re working on it. The “State” level (between country and city) should be implemented sooner. There are a few countries in the queue before France (Brazil, Mexico and UK). The level between city and street require support from the search side and from the editor before can be deployed. That will require some time.

- Request: Remove the “service roads” option from the editor
- Answer: Good idea. We will.
Product

- Question: When will the alert “heavy traffic reported ahead” will be prompted?
- Answer: on major highways and freeways, based on auto-detected traffic jams.

- Request: more communication option for co-drivers. For example - inform the other driver that I want to stop for a break.
- Answer: Request forwarded to the Product Team

- Question: Users do not understand why they need to wait until their friends will add them to their list. They liked the option to share their drive directly with their friends.
- Answer: users can still share their drives with anyone like before. The friendship approval is just before you can become “Waze friends”.

- Request: when a user drives on a non existing road - can we offer him to pave it?
- Answer: Request forwarded to the Product Team
