Just a note to all you NC editors out there.
We have created the NC Mapping Resource page, though keep in mind, it it still a work in progress.
If you have any suggestions about content that can/should be added, please reply in this thread.

Looks good. I did see one mistake right off. It says there are no toll roads in NC. There are several in the Raleigh Durham area.
Thanks for the input. Can you provide the names of those roads and we’ll get them added.
My next task is getting GIS sites for all the counties, if possible.
Yeah I forgot about the 2 miles of toll roads we have.
I got the Counties listed in a table. Should be pretty easy to add links.
Yeah, I’ve started working on it…just need to find time to look up all the sites.
Table looks good HD.
I’ve got the links added for every county except Clay, which doesn’t seem to have a functional GIS site.
You can find all the NC Toll roads here: http://www.ncdot.gov/turnpike/ They are all in the Raleigh Durham area at the moment.
Here is another useful link. It shows the full construction drawing for the I-295 Fayetteville Outer Loop. http://www.fampo.org/outerloop_grid.html
Steve do we have any DOT maps showing the work proposed for the I-295 loop effecting Spring lake?
Is it proposed or actually being built? I wouldn’t add a proposal in to the maps quite yet. Now if it is under construction and nearing completion I think you may be ok.
@s18 You could have just said all 3 miles of it. ![]()
Sorry for the delay in replying to this. I have been under the weather. The DOT maps are for the entire project. However, what I mapped is under construction and opening soon. I mapped it as dirt roads and did not connect the segments to drivable roads per the advise from several level 5 & 6 champs. They are paving the roads now and completing a couple bridges. It will be opening in stages. The first part was supposed to open this month but that got pushed back due to delays. Now the latest update says it will start opening in a couple months. I plan on updating the road types and connections as opening dates are announced.
Let me know if you have any specific questions and the project or what I have mapped out.
I missed the part about Sping Lake. I haven’t seen any plans for Sping Lake yet. The only thing I have found is going up Murchison Rd through Ft Bragg to Spring Lake. I will keep an eye out for information on it.
That sounds good I was down that way this weekend and the best I could find that it was opening this month. On a side note I think what you did down there is good. I did the same thing for the last leg(s) of 485 in Charlotte. The only thing different I did was the wording (FUTURE I-485 (12/14))
