I need this location marked as a private road for me. 28°10’08.6"N 81°37’25.0"W in Davenport FL. Del Webb Blvd at this location is for residents ONLY. You can clearly see the sign that states this on Google Maps Street View. Because this location has not been marked as private, Waze is routing people here, such as ride share drivers, delivery drivers, emergency vehicles, guests, etc. when going this way seems shorter or quicker to an address inside the gated community of Del Web Orlando. There is only one manned gated entrance for non-residents into this community, and it is on Ridgewood Lakes Blvd. I missed a doctor’s appointment because my Uber driver insisted this was the way to my house and that I had given him the wrong directions. Please help mark this location as restricted. I hate to think that ambulances and firetrucks are being routed this way! I do not own a car or I would do it. Thank you! 
The simplest way to answer your question is to say Waze determines where you are, and when you tell Waze where you want to go, it looks at ALL possible ways to get you to your destination and has no way of knowing if you are a guest or resident.
In your case there are 2 possible ways to enter the neighborhood. Waze will always pick the one that is the fastest. We are unable to tell Waze “don’t pick this one”, as it’s programmed to get you somewhere fastest. Please keep in mind waze cannot tell if the driver is a guest or a resident. Waze at its core is a commuter app to get you to and from a destination the fastest. Per the TOS it is not for commercial use. To help with navigation we have created a searchable place in Waze called “Del Webb Orlando - Main/Visitors Entrance” This can be used to get the proper routing for guest/visitors.
First they would search for the address inside the complex then select add a stop and search for “Del Webb Orlando - Main/Visitors Entrance” selecting this as well. This will provide navigation to the gate first then to the address inside the complex once past the gate. Right now this is the only solution we have for guests vs resident.
Alternatively, If you have a community website you can list the name of the guest entrance that we have created for you there. You can broadcast to your community to increase the awareness of these new places that are designed to route guests to the correct entrances.
Us Volunteer Editors have been working with Waze to try and find a solution that allows residents to get the best routing and guest to receive proper routing to the Visitor gate(s). Hopefully this is something that can be accomplished.

This is disappointing. Ride share drivers or delivery drivers who use Waze are not going to be searching for “Del Webb Orlando.” They are going to be following the route given to them and expecting it to be correct. I have missed a doctor’s appointment and never received my restaurant dinner order in the past 2 weeks because the back gate to my community has not been labeled as a private road. The drivers accused me of giving them the wrong address. I was only asking for help from someone to label that back gate area as private for me. I do not own a car. This could be a huge issue if emergency responders are directed to go through a back gate that they cannot enter. Most non-residents are not going to stop and do the searches you have suggested. They are just going to follow the fastest route GPS gives them. I contacted Google Maps about this, and they changed it to private pretty quickly. I have also submitted the change to Apple Maps.
Hello, I am the HOA President at Del Webb Orlando. While you have offered some level of response to our request to direct drivers to our main gate; we continue to have trespassing vehicles coming in the back gate. The gate at Forest Lake Drive and Kingham Road (28.168851, -81.623075) needs to be marked as a private restricted access road, with public traffic directed to the front gate at US-27 and Ridgewood Lakes Blvd. (28.191163, -81.627625). No traffic should be directed to that back gate; residents with transponders and emergency vehicles know how to access it – this is a safety and security issue to prevent unauthorized traffic from entering a gated, 55+ community. Please make this change.
Hello, As one of our other editors noted. We have this setup per our National and Regional guidance. Waze is a navigation tool for drivers. Waze is not a navigational tool for Uber, Door Dash, Instacart etc. We route the homeowner to the closest gate to their home.
We do not have a means to guide guests to 1 gate and residents to another.
There is not any trespassing going on by our navigation, public has a right to turn into the entrance on Forest Lake Dr and Kingham Rd, if they have a pass they may enter. If no pass they have to continue around and exit. Waze does not provide any access to gated communities. Even if you use Google Maps street view, you will see their car drive in and turn around there. As they could not get past the gate. Same with Waze. The roads going into the community are marked at Private roads, which will prevent driving ‘thru’ the community unless one has a pass. Waze will not route someone thru the back gate as a cut across, the destination has to be within the community for us to route into it.
As someone who lives here in Florida and in a gated community if I was driving home and I was routed to the main gate each time I would very irritated as my home is closer to our back gate. Thus why Waze navigates residents to the closest gate as its intended.
As an example if I lived on Cantrabria Drive and I as coming home using Waze I would not want to be routed to the main entrance when I can because I’m a resident enter thru the back gate. I would want my route sent to the back gate if that’s what’s the closest to my starting point.

The residents utilizing driving services are responsible for telling the drivers in the Notes of those apps on how to properly access the community.
If they utilize those, they will get in just fine utilizing Waze.
3rd party apps and services have their own maps, Waze does not provide it for them.
As a reminder, Waze is a navigation tool for residents, not anyone else.

I am Wbggirl. I have spent most of the morning discussing this issue with Google Gemini. I will be sending you an email with the very helpful information I have received. There is a way to get this resolved, but it involves going higher up the Waze chain beyond this local non-employee editor. This editor does not understand that language barriers with the drivers here add a heavy layer of difficulty, making it hard to explain by phone or text that they have to go to the main gate, I guess they assume everyone speaks perfect English. I had a driver call and yell at me in his broken English that I gave him the wrong address.

To fix this, the map must be edited so Waze’s algorithm physically cannot
calculate a route through that back gate for the general public. You or a local
community manager need to request the following specific edits in the Waze
Community Forums or via the Waze Map Editor:
Apply a “Turn Restriction” at the Back Gate: Ask editors to place a red "No
Turn" or “No Entry” restriction at the back gate for all traffic except for a highly
