New CCP forum for Champs!

Hey All,

Recently we’ve received feedback at meetups and over email that many champs would like to learn more about the CCP program and know how they can begin CCP partnerships in their community.

Several communities have been very helpful in generating new partnership leads and also have developed awesome ongoing relationships with local CCP partners, which greatly benefits local map quality.

I know there are already are highly involved champs who can share relevant information with the rest of the community, and we encourage everyone to use this forum if you’d like to learn and get more involved with this great program!

Since the CCP program is growing rapidly - with currently over 100 CCP partnerships globally - we wanted to create a dedicated forum where champs can hear from each other about local programs that are launching, how partners and editors collaborate, and allow us to get feedback from you on what’s working and what needs improvement.

Going forward, I’ll be the contact person from the community team for this program and this forum.

Have a CCP recommendation? Want to know more about who we’re in touch with near you? Want follow up on a referral you send into Waze? Have questions on CCP technical support/data exchanges? Let me know

Also feel free to share the information in here with your local champs.

Thanks again and I look forward to getting this forum going!
Shira

Hi Shira,

thanks for the dedicated forum

I would have a request: please provide us with a simple list of ALL CCP partners to have all GCs be informed about their area, maybe there is a partner we are not aware.

I do.

  • Follow up on the requests you get from governments.
I’m not joking when I say, I’ve spoken with more then 5 different organisations (both potential CCP and broadcast partners) that filled in the right forms and NEVER heard anything back from Waze.

  • Follow up on our emails.
There is one thing very important for CCP to work and it’s quick responses to E-mail.
A reply within one or two weeks is NOT a quick response.

  • Establish relationships with the governments, otherwise any business within Europe won’t work.
This requires face-to-face communication. Europe doesn’t do VC business.

Hi, Peter.

It is a bit weird. In Brazil, potential partners get scared about how fast is waze’s reply after filling the CCP form. In few minutes all of them receive a reply.

Tell them not to be scarred

We come in peace

Interresting how different the experiences are. Hopefullly it’s only an language issue or something similar and not a first/second class community issue.

We do have the same problem Peter Says here in Colombia, I made lot of connections with goverment and broadcasters and most of yhem didn’t receive an Answer even they wrote more than once

Evident Waze’s staff would not do that. Even more because CCP is a subject of great interest and responsibility.

Also, we must observe that there are criteria to potential partners join CCP. Broadcasters, for example, are one way partnership.

The right way to contact CCP staffs are through CCP form. Not by messages. It is written in CCP support page

In my experience there is no “right way”. If a proposal comes in any channel - even a phonecall , they should answer simply because what you already wrote: CCP is a very high priority thing atm.

CCP page on waze.com is quite fresh, and I guess it even didn’t exist when Peter tried to get new partners on board.

I didn’t experience that Waze staff ignore CCP emails and I’m convinced that’s not about regions/communities/language when it happens for some reason. There must be priorities though what we have to accept. The only thing we can do is to augment the process and write as many heads up emails as we can

It was not me…Tapatalk and autocorrect…

We know it Carlos but even they filled up the form they were not contacted

Got it, Mauricio. I really have no informations or clues about what you complain then I cannot say much. I speak just from what I’ve read in CCP support page.
Luckily we have this channel to prevent and follow up potential partners and get tuned on CCP subject.

There is one additional thing, staff should
Think that this partners must help community with info too, why?, most of broadcasters and government entities have info about events that sometimes community do not know, if they share that info with community, we could program events, closures, etc, if not, wazers will not have a real map, it is just a matter of sharing info, but staff just signs the contract and in fact do not share champs or coordinator info with partners to have a real time map and do not tell community which new partner is starting CCP.

We do have social network teams in the communities and this is another way to communicate and to growth with users, why not to share that info with social network champs?

One of the most important things in Waze is us, the editors, so they have to think about a plus in the CCP having in mind that we count.

Hey Guys,

Thank you for your comments and feedback!

We’ll try to improve our response times in order to get back to CCP partners that you send to us, The CCP team at Waze is aware of this issue.

Since we often receive “potential partner” that isn’t always good lead for CCP, I’ll share with you “Guidelines for CCP” in order for the community to identify potential partners that would fit the CCP program.

As requested, see below the list of the current CCP- please note this is how many partners have been publicly announced to date. We have other partners who have signed, but we don’t share until they announce on their end

Feel free to share any more information or feedbacks,

Best,

Shira

Hi,

Connecting partners with local community has been already started in CCP. On the latter two CCP summits this need was clearly stated by the partners and the process is started: this forum and topic is part of this process.

But keep in mind that maybe the partner didn’t want to deal with volunteers from the street or not sure about how to deal with us…it depends on them and I think that slowly every partner will move to this direction since they see the advantages now (from staff, community and partner presentations).

I hope that we’ll see development in the communication

Georgia DOT announced partnership as well

So potential partners are not a good thing, or what? :?

Guys do you have access to the scripts used for analyzed the json data, our Ministry of transport is trying to do this but they have a lack of resources, so any help is welcome for them.

Tell them to use the CCP partner forum, there are more people there who are doing this.

I recently sent an email (CCP, staff and my coordinators) giving a proposal to reconnect between Staff, CCP and me. By now three weeks I do not have response from the CCP yet.
CCP in Puebla is SSPYTM_Puebla and is still active in the WME.

Sent an email to whom? And are you wanting to connect to the CCP partner there in your area?
