We are in new townhomes and it looks like Waze does not have our street or our house and unit number. It also looks like I don’t have any permissions in the editor to submit an update, so I’d like help if somebody could add our house and maybe our street.
Our street would be North 580 West in Tooele, UT, and there may already be another road that is called that, but because of the grid system where we live, it’s related to the grid line but is not connected to the other road named the same.
Likewise, when searching for my address in the search bar at the top, it only shows “North 580 West”, which is a small street elsewhere, so when I put in our address (including unit number), it points there instead.
We had a delivery brought to the wrong address and we want to help prevent that from happening in the future.
I have dropped a pin at the following location and copied from the live map editor, which shows our home (matching the unit number) and that pin also shows the road in front of our house, which I also don’t have permissions to edit.

Interestingly, when I look at the above POINT notation, it seems to have the latitude first and the longitude second. If you need to swap those two points, you should be able to in order to find the right location.
It would make it easier for us to help if you would create a permalink in the Waze Map Editor (what we call WME).
From the location in Live Map, switch to WME by clicking the red pencil icon, lower right. After that page loads, click on your street segment, then click the link icon, upper right. Copy the Permalink that shows in the Share Location box that opens, and paste that link here.
You’ve got to love our Utah grid systems - perfectly understandable in the pre-GPS times, but a square peg in a round hole in our smartphone and computer world that’s built on different assumptions how addresses should work.
It looks like Tooele County has added enough information to their public records GIS that we can finish mapping your neighborhood. Unfortunately, Waze does not support Unit/Apt/etc. numbers in addresses, but we can get it to your route to your building. You can manually override your Home location on the app to get it just where you want it.
There’s a new trust system and waiting period (which we aren’t given many details about) in the Waze Map Editor that may keep you from editing the map if your account is relatively new, so I will go ahead and add the missing streets and addresses. It will take a day or two for the updates to process and be visible and searchable from the app and the Live Map – let me know if it doesn’t. Anyone who has previously searched for your address (or ones nearby) and gotten a bad result will need to remove that entry from their navigation history or Saved locations and search again.
