New to Editing

I didn’t see an “introduce yourself” topic, so I’ll just start my own.

I am in Central Illinois, and I new to map editing. If you notice some bone-headed edits on my part, let me know. (Yes, I know where the wiki is and have read through a lot of it… :wink: )

I can’t get on map editor. can I just highlight the roads with the app and hit General map error to name the streets?

Waze works best with Chrome. You can use Firefox with a few bugs(like selecting a road that is due East-West can be difficult). Does NOT work with Internet Explorer. Guys have also been successful with Safari, you would have to dig around to see how they got that to work.

Now, from the app, you can hit map error and put in the street name. If you want them to stay open for you, I always put “Don’t close this UR without a PM to bigbear3764”. I have a short cut on my phone so I only have to type “ur” and it auto fills this in. Or someone else will come along and should send you a message asking for more info.

Do I have to be by that road or can I just click on it. Then hit map error

I know lots of roads without names and could name them but if I have to drive there to change it well that would not happen i Can’t go out of route miles if wa know what I mean.

So, you don’t have access to a computer and Internet?

If you drop a pin from the app, it will be where you are now. No other way around that from the app.

From the live map on the Internet, you can drop a pin report anywhere. Just hit the left mouse key and a ballon comes up asking if this is an origin, destination, or report a problem.

You can post in the US Unlock/ Update forum, but we need a permalink from the update map to do it.

Ya there isn’t any internet out where I live. Haven’t had a computer in years and I have no clue what that other stuff is your talking about lol.

I’ll introduce myself here as well. I’m primarily a Metropolitan Indianapolis based Wazer / Editor but I just added Vermilion, Edgar, and Clark Counties to my eligible areas to edit. So you may see me wonder a little more over to the Illinois forum from time to time.
