Hello everyone… New Wazer here… Im a Fed ex Guy for greene county in Illinois. and for sometime it has been a Rural Route system for all of the addresses.Well Back in september of 17 the process of changing it over from Rural Routes to 911 started, and now its March and its almost changed over, yet Tom tom, nor apple will change anything… no matter how many times i report an issue… So a friend, told me about Waze, and the interface, as well as being able to change and update the map myself… I have started this, but i wanted to hear from the Seasoned veterans of waze on the best way to go about this so that its very easy… Some tips and tricks to make it go smoothly… I have the inside track on this area since i put in about 200 plus miles a day. know the roads and new addresses. I can even Mark the house addresses as soon as they get the proper road names for me to select… thank you all… boler51
Hi there,
My name is Joe and I am one of the State Managers for Illinois. It is great to have you on here and willing to help us out! One way to best help us out is when you see an error on the map, hit the orange report button, then go to Map Issue and select which ever type of issue you have and report it to us. We will see where it is on the map and we can send you messages, via that report to get more information.
You can also always put a message up here with your question/problem and we can help you out on here. OR feel free to send me a private message and I’ll be happy to help you out. Just make sure to include a Permalink to the location
We also have a chat group, via the app Discord, where all Illinois users are able to chat with each other and talk about any issues or questions they may have, which you can join here.
I will also include a few helpful editing links that may answer some questions you may have about editing:

hey there! thanks for reaching out! i think i recently saw some of your reports. we would love to help you out getting these changed. unfortunately greene county does not have an online GIS mapping system we can use to reference names. it would be an immense help if you can tell us from where to where the names have changed in your report locations. if it’s county line to county line that’s easy enough but we also need to keep in mind the proper names as roads go through towns/ cities. we will also need to keep the old names as alternate names on the segments.
do you know of any government sources that document the names? are the names you suggested in the reports also the names on all of the road signs?
thanks for your help!

the names of the roads that i have changed are the actual road signs that are now up on the roads… they are the peoples addresses bc its what i have to use for Fed Ex to deliver to the customers… the old names of the roads are basically useless and are not used in anyway shape an form in the address for a customer… the addresses are RR 1 Box 112 roodhouse…which is now 94 e barrow rd in Roodhouse… so the old road names do nothing for the old system other than if a person personally marked the destination and used the old signs for a reference for directions… As for the government resource… they hired a third party to undertake the transition to 911… so there is nothing… i have done everything to get a number or a contact i can talk to to get a map, or something to help me out on my work side of it… so unfortunately there isnt much help there… but with what i do and how much i am in the area, im the next best thing for you all… as for the name changes… it is county wide… so its all of greene county… i know they started this into phases, as in town by town in september of 17… now the different townships are getting the signs up so there is a reference by the local area… just no paper or online… so thats why i am here… i wish there was a picture feature of the Waze app so that if make a road change via the app i can take a picture of the sign with a gps marker included so that its verified of where im at… thank you so much and feel free to pm me if you want… im very excited to do this as right now i put in close to 80 hours a week with my job bc im the only one who can figure out his area and it will be very nice to refer a driver to Waze to find a location bc they know that im the one who set it up… you guys rock… ty
awesome, as joe mentioned please join us on discord- https://discordapp.com/invite/jYqQ8q it’s a lot easier to have real time chats there and more editors will see the messages and be able to help. it’s easy enough for us to keep the old names as an alternate so there is no harm in doing that. also we only use city names in the primary road name if it’s in the incorporated part of a town. additionally when using road name suffixes it’s important to use the right one ST, St and St. are all different.
thanks for the help!
