A new version of WME, v2.309 has just been released

Community suggestions implemented:
We’ve heard the community’s requests for more versatile address options. We are excited to announce that we have expanded the types of house numbers that can now be mapped in WME, for both Residential Places (RPPs) and Places.
Now it is possible to use the following address formats:
- Generic alphanumeric addresses: any combination of letters and numbers, including letters before digits, or two numbers separated by a hyphen or slash (e.g., 10-20, 12A, A1, 1B).
- Alphanumeric addresses with slashes: e.g., 1/4A.
- Alphanumeric addresses with hyphens: e.g., C15-20 or 15-20C.
- Leading zeros: e.g., 0 or 0235.
- North/South/East/West addresses: e.g., N73W13430 (not supported in full search, but can be added and appear in autocomplete).
- Community suggestions implemented – More complexity for house numbers in Residential Places (RPPs)
- Uservoice Suggestion – Need options for Unit/Apt/Space/Suite/Building Num in addresses and RPPs
- Uservoice Suggestion – Support for house number format e.g., 123/45-67

New features/improvements:
1. Closures: we are introducing a change where, when a closure has the status “Finished” or “Finished early”, the closure card will now be clickable in read-only (disabled) mode.
When opening the form of a finished closure:
- All fields will be disabled and non-editable.
- The “Created by” and “Provided by” sections will remain visible.
- Editors will be able to view all details of the closure, even after it has ended.
- This change was raised by the community during the North America Mega Meetup.
2. Performance improvement with the WME SDK in the FC Layer script: this script now uses the WME SDK, bringing a significant performance boost. Map data loading has become much faster across all zoom levels, especially in large datasets. This improvement enhances the editor experience and demonstrates the value of the WME SDK in allowing script authors to create faster and more efficient tools.
3. SDK Improvements: please refer to the changelog for the latest additions.
Bug fixes:
12 bug fixes have been released:
- House Number restructuring: fixed the issue where the house numbers layer being enabled prevented the creation of roundabouts.
- Residential Places (RPPs): fixed an issue where residential places with non-Latin characters in the house number field could not be saved.
- House Number Edit Suggestions:
- Fixed the issue where there was no pending suggestion notification on the segment for the person who created the suggestion.
- Fixed the flow so that the lightbulb icon is only visible to users with permission to Accept/Reject the suggestion, and not to the creator.
- Resolved the issue where suggestion details did not appear in the card when opening the suggestion via the map pin, issue tracker, or permalink.
- Fixed the issue where an accepted suggestion card could not be closed if opened via the segment history.
- Map Event Filtering/Duplication:
- Fixed the issue where the crosshair button to locate events did not appear in the event details menu.
- Resolved the issue with the “Locate” button on polygons: now, when clicking “Locate” on a Major Traffic Event (MTE), the event polygon is visually highlighted on the map.
- Fixed the issue where a suggested closure was not highlighted on the map when hovering.
- Fixed the behavior where selecting the “Specific category” option in the filter checked all checkboxes by default. Now, only the first box is selected, aligned with the “Issue Tracker” behavior.
- Fixed an issue where the “Locate” feature did not work on turn closures.
- Performance: fixed the issue where a crash occurred when moving the map from the previous edit.
Known issues:
- Map Event Filtering/Duplication: failed closure should be locked for editing and verification.
