We have 5 specific destinations for Terminal 1 arrivals as follows:
YYZ Terminal 1 - Arrivals A (Canada)
YYZ Terminal 1 - Arrivals B (US/International)
YYZ Terminal 1 - Arrivals D (US/International)
YYZ Terminal 1 - Arrivals E (US/International)
YYZ Terminal 1 - Arrivals F (International)
These specific Waze Places have been tied to the correct road on the correct level so that directions will be very specific within the airport complex.
If the user specifies one of these 5 items as their destination, they should get correct instructions.
Also, there is a road segment named “Pearson Airport, Terminal 1 Arrival” which can also be a search result, and should give proper directions to the correct road & level (although not a specific point on the map, so it might alert you that you have arrived before you are at the actual terminal).
However, if they specify some other point as their destination (such as a result from Google Maps), the destination pin would snap to the nearest road, which may be the wrong road altogether, or on the wrong elevation, and therefore once they enter the airport complex they will need to follow the overhead signs and not the Waze instructions.
I have made one change, to add Pearson Airport as an alternate name (same names as above, but substitute “Pearson Airport” for “YYZ”), but at the moment I don’t think alternate names are displayed in search results.
