How are you finding these issues? You say you are a cross country roadtripper? You’re travelling and seeing hundreds of minor issues from BC to ON in a matter of days?
Stuart Kettles St. is not missing a road name but it is misnamed in Waze. How do you happen to see a “missing” street name in Waze as you drove by when it is not missing but misnamed?
Also, ASAP is not appreciated after so many posts. I don’t think you’re listening though.
It is misnamed and should be dealt with as soon as you have time, I will listen and try to stop from now on, I will now try to say at the earliest convenience instead of ASAP, i am sorry for causing any trouble, This street needs to be changed to Stuart Kettles St, I said it was missing just to reduce confusion if the street is divided into different sections, so that the person who is editing is not renaming the entire street just to make another update request requesting that the rest of the street be renamed back to the appropriate name, I travel without stopping for more than 1 hour, It takes me about 34 or less hours to travel from BC to Ontario, these so called “minor” issues could turn major if it confuses drivers or causes them to turn on the wrong street, because naming it the way it is may cause someone to go through someone’s backyard to get to the right road which is what you could call a more urgent request
You neglected to say how you are finding these issues. It’s hard to believe you are driving around verifying road names by the dozens or more.
These are minor issues (that I’ve seen) that should be corrected but they will never become major issues, as you say, unless on primary roads. When I think of major, I’m thinking of dangerous or life threatening mapping issues or storm/traffic real time road closures affecting hundreds/thousands of people. There was once a map issue that caused someone to drive off a dock. A misnamed road that no one has cared enough to report since it’s creation in 2010 is not an ASAP issue. While editors can appreciate the desire to update the map, your sense of urgency and persistence is outsized to the problem.
Well I would like it to be addressed rather than purposely ignored, It purportedly seems like I am not seeing any effort for solving this update request, It will only take a few minutes of your time, At your earliest convenience is not working either, instead of this request being solved you leave me with more questions because when I tried to find an address to a friend’s house located on this street it showed up wrong and I ended up missing the turn. I found most of these issues because I am also a Doordash/Uber Eats driver and had to go to these many streets to deliver goods, Also most of these requests are done over months of driving, just consolidated into a few days because of shear neglect to report. I am not trying to be mean but do what Nike says in those commercials.
I am expecting these to be resolved at the earliest convenience when you have time, I have dealt with these neglects in the next forum post
How i am finding theses issues is that I clearly had a major mix-up on route to many peoples homes while doing deliveries or special events, none of these streets were coming up right, remember delivery drivers have long shifts. I also voluntarily do many road trips.
P.S. These requests have been done after many months of driving but only now did I remember to request updates
Waze told my car to go down this trail to get to my friend’s house on “Henley St”, I got hit by someone on a bike and hurt the biker, I am not lying, When I did get to my friends house my car battery and motor died and I couldn’t get home, this was in August 2022 and only now did I finally get the guts to actually report this issue and request for it to be updated. This also caused me to get a nail in my tire and my tire became flat. Really unfortunate that you are not seeing the real urgency for this road name and addressing to be updated, I could’ve been the one who died
It may not be on topic but it seems to have your attention because it’s blocking your single-minded goal.
This is a volunteer group who work to improve the map and address issues in their spare time “for fun”. We wish the map to be the best but being spammed by issues marked ASAP is not fun. Your often insistence on ASAP updates is not appreciated at least by myself. We’re not used to getting hundreds of requests in a batch and given the volume have had questions about map sources and transparency which seem to have not been forthcoming. I certainly am not adding your changes unless I can independently verify.
You’ve made of 800 posts. That’s quite a lot of misdirected deliveries. Can I ask how many more you have in store? Perhaps it would be better to provide them in some sort of single list rather than hundreds of post?

This one would have been ASAP and I’d say should have taken precedence over many of your other posts?. Always trust your eyes first though. There’s a curb and looks like a narrow unpaved wooded trail (i.e. not road-like) so some skepticism was in order.
Yes, I saw that in Waze StreetView and was able to independently verify.
Can you say how many more requests you have queued up?
I thought you already had a list compiled over months and months? How many more left?
I think editors might be more receptive if you used your own original photography than using images with secret Google watermarks on them. Thanks
Unfortunately I did not take my camera with me and my phone died while doing this trek, I wish I could provide you with actual photos but my camera got the best of me, sorry that’s all I got, I had to get a new phone after the crash since the crash totalled it
Oh no! very tragic about the phone and the crash. Yes, sounds good, post some pictures from the actual drives, otherwise editors here will just think you’re copying data from other maps. Plus we love to see pictures of fellow editors travels!
I unfortunately have no imagery from the drives since I forgot to take my camera or forgot to take images period, I currently have no camera and no phone, so I am solely posting from my laptop. I’m so sorry to deliver the bad news since as of yesterday I am off to Laos for a business trip so I am therefore unable to confirm when or if I will get photos or a phone or a camera, I try not to copy from other mapping sources but in this case I have no choice to compromise because this is the only proof I have for maybe at least the next year and a bit until I have enough money to get a proper camera or phone. For now please tell other mappers to accept my proof because it is only proof you will be getting for as long as I don’t have a camera or phone. I am really sorry to deliver that bad news because of now I have no personal images, but may in the future just depending on if I get enough funds to invest in these electronics, I only have a car, I live out of my car because I am homeless and lost all my electronics in a fire except my laptop, I forgot to back up any photos from the last 5 years and sadly those too were lost in the house fire and now are in a lot of debt
Don’t Uber and Doordash require you to have phone?
Yes they do but they offered me a phone for work only and aren’t allowed to take photos that are not related to work or customer per company policy, my personal phone was destroyed
It is me just following the company’s orders thats all, If I were to take photos that were not work related or share them then I would most certainly get fired
