Pittsburgh International Airport vs. Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT)

Visitor from Montreal here!

On the live map, routing from Mt Lebanon to the Pittsburgh Airport takes me to the center of that area despite the RPP, and on the app, the Google link also routes there. Only the one with (PIT) at the end seems to work properly

Does the RPP need to be adjusted?

I like the “Please do not use Waze on a plane” notes!

In the app I see three related search results, one is the (PIT) result, one is DOOR6 (which is a train stop) and the other is a Micro Grid result. What was your search term, exactly? LiveMap routing isn’t necessarily what you get in the app, it works differently, so try your search in the app and see what you get.

Thanks for the quick reply!

In the app there’s a Google search result that comes up next to the fire station. Here’s a link:

But what search term are you using? I’m not getting that result.

For example “Pittsburgh Airport” or “Pittsburgh International Airport” - both bring up that Google result.

There’s also a “Pittsburgh Intl Airport” found in White River Township south of Indianapolis!

If you chose the Google result, then you are bypassing the Waze links, so chose a result from the Places tab rather than the Google tab and you should get proper navigation. All of the Google results are linked to the Waze place, but again, if you chose the Google result, you are bypassing that functionality.

I get that…

I guess my main concern was that the live map result was wrong, and if someone were to use that and send it to their phone, they may end up disappointed!

Thanks for the good exchange here - glad to see responsive editors in my travels.

I understand your concern, but LiveMap always uses Google results, we can’t change that, unfortunately. I’ve tried asking Google to update the stop point of their listing, but this is one of those locations that they won’t consider it, they keep it at center-mass of the airport. That’s why we had to put in a “hack” to get it to route properly in Waze. So all that being said, there isn’t much we can do about the Google point here.
