Place Update Requests - Guidance

Evening All,

I’ve been doing some update requests and using a bit of common sense and the global guidance. It doesn’t cover peoples houses - my view was that we shouldn’t have people placing a “place” point with an address when this can be done better with adding house numbers to a road segment. (please correct me if I’m wrong).

The next point is - where do we stand with people submitting photo update requests of houses/front doors to the “place points” ? I think if the above question is yes there is no need for a photo? I’ve been avoiding any requests with photos of houses since I didn’t want to accept/decline and be wrong! :slight_smile:

Totally agree. When people submit a new place like this, I will accept and the convert it to a residential place point (you might need to add the house number to the address to do this). I’ve got nothing against a photo showing the front door, as long as it meets the accepted standards, including being of a good quality and not showing any people etc.

As well as converting to a RPP, I will also often add a matching House Number to the road segment at the same time to be double sure!
