I’ve encountered several URs now with issues routing to Dane County Regional Airport. Seems the directions take the user to the wrong side of the airport and my attempts at fixing this have not been successful.
I have moved the navigation target of the airport Area from middle of the airport to International Ln which leads to gates and parking. I’ve also entered correct address information and tried adjusting the airport area. None of these seem to have helped.
It’s a google pin problem. Search thru the threads and you will find a ton of reports of routing errors to airports. And nobody has been successful in getting a google pin moved on an airport.
Try a search for the airport, go to the bottom of the auto fill results to " see more results". Now you can pick the waze search engine to see your marker.
What if we dropped a Place pin on the terminal? Guess it would create duplicate results.
Edit: Place pin on the terminal building and call it “Dane County Regional Airport Terminal” or “Dane County Airport Terminal” so it shows up first in the results.
I know several of the champs know about this. I’m sure they are working with Waze on how this needs to be handled. At one time I had O’Hare and Midway working. What changed to break that, I don’t know. Something in the search results perhaps.
Let the tiles update and see where your search comes up when you look under the Waze search engine results.
The tiles have updated since my edits (well over a week ago). I get no joy from Waze results unfortunately. I did more tinkering today so I’ll see where that goes.
Hi All, was any progress made on that? Lots of URs there yet.
Also, I just combed through a lot of URs for Madison in general, doesn’t look like there has been an editor active in this area in at least a month or two.
I try to slide up there every once in a while to clean it up. Nobody that I know of is really active in that area anymore. Especially after a lot of roads got split and a few of us cleaned it up and locked them down.
