There is a red light camera on one of my routes. Each wk it disappears and I have to re submit the camera. Why does this camera disappear? Its not like a traffic jam that gets cleared out.
Where are you located? Country or City/State. Photo enforcement is not legal everywhere.
Cameras need to be approved/configured in the editor before they make it to the client app.
Also, have you read the Cameras page in the Waze Wiki?
The camera in question is located in washington USA. I’m certain its legal to report its location. I’ve been making its location for months and for months it disappears from the map about a week after I report it. Is out something that requires a second user to verify its existence sort of how wiki pages are only ”true” by consensus?.
Could be people saying it’s not there.

If an Area Manager never approved it’s placement and set the speed limit, it won’t ever show on the client. If you reported it, it will show on your client, and your client only, until the next map update and then it will disappear.
The question isn’t if it’s legal to report cameras in your area…it’s legal to report them throughout the U.S. The question is if there’s actually a camera there, as they’re banned in some areas/states. A lot of people have no idea what a speed camera or red light camera looks like, so they report traffic sensors and traffic cams that have nothing to do with enforcement.
Give a permalink to the location of the camera and we can look into it.
People marking the camera as not there from the client won’t remove a camera from the map. In the old editor, it would change a number that was associated with the camera, and give an indication to an AM looking at the camera in the editor if it was getting the Not There reports.
Its absolutely a red light camera. There are signs which indicate it. and its the same or similar to others in the region. And yeah, my girlfriend is always pointing out traffic calming or sensors as red light cameras.
How would I go about posting a permalink. Probably not something I’m going to do on my phone

In this frame the red light cameras are on the main hiway on both the North and Southbound lanes.

Those camera haven’t been approved and therefor wont show in the client. Ones that have been reported show in sepia, those that have been approved show up in full color.
I just approved them, so they shouldn’t go away again.

I just drove by and noticed the red light warnings. But they appeared to be too far west. Just a block. When I parked and tried to zoom in on them, I couldn’t find it at all. I’ll check again on my waze out.
It hasn’t updated to your phone yet (give it a few days). And I confirmed them where you added them…if they need to be closer to the intersection lmk and I’ll move them.
