Road-shields disappeared from Irish roads

On Sunday evening I spotted some missing road shields, but as I was updating them I observed that road shields had actually disappeared from the vast majority of Irish roads! In the screenshot further down, you can see shields in Northern Ireland (part of the UK) but none at all in Ireland.

I’m just thinking out loud now, but could this be a side-effect from the recent change when HQ turned States ON for us? If not, what could have caused it? I don’t seen any mentions of such an issue in other communities so it seems to be affecting Ireland only.

We had road shields on 95% of our segments when this feature was rolled out - I recall when Shira sent us a list of segments missing shields, that was very short. There is no evidence of this change in segment history either.

Could you please take a look into this?

I might have spotted a trend. Segments with city=none have lost their shields. Segments with city populated have retained their shields.

Thanks for reporting, indeed it make sense that it might be related to the states import, since the address structure changed.

We are looking into it and will keep you posted.

Hey Ruben I was thinking about this issue earlier today actually!

Thanks for getting back to me, plenty seem to have been fixed, but I still see segments that used to have shields that currently don’t. They’re all very close for some reason :slight_smile:

After investigating seems those segments didn’t have a shield mapped before the import.
We looked back at the data before the import.

I must admit that sounds weird our shields were “auto-generated” from the Street Names until the switch…

That said, the issue seems to be very localised so we can fix them manually :slight_smile: Would it be possible to get a list of mH/MH/FW segments without shields to tidy-up the situation? If you could exclude roundabouts, that’d be even better :ugeek:

Those are the streets that don’t have a shield mapped.
Those should be easily searchable in WME, if you think a PL is needed it might take a bit more time.
