I’d say you’d want to steer clear of the freeway road type and go for the major highway. Having driven a few of them myself I found their condition varies. Typically the Ax roads are the ones I’d say should be highway. If you want to follow New Zealands (USAs) structure you’d have a hard time finding an onramp - they are pretty much all at-ground intersections.
You might also want to amend the naming of them, i.e. include their code as opposed to the local name. So… “Bulawayo Rd” would be something like “A5 - Bulawayo Rd”. I see that technically it is there as an alternative name though.
