Roundabout issue A48/A4106 unable to save fix

Hi,

I’m pretty new to editing but have successfully made a few edits now.

One major issue I have found is the roundabout just outside Bridgend on A48 with junction to A4106. The roundabout seems to have been built as individual roads, not a proper roundabout and not all the roads connect up. As a result Waze won’t send you along A48 from Bridgend heading to M4 west bound and instead routes you through unsuitable back lanes.

I have edited the roundabout and tried to save it but the editor will not let me save the work. I am wondering if this is due to the fact that the A48 is locked to level 4 and above (I am lowly level 1 still).

I’ve lowered all I can see (it’s a bit of a mess!) to level 1. Why don’t you rebuild the roundabout and then we can check it out.

Those changes you have done have fixed it. Going back that way Wednesday so it’ll be good to see if that’s fixed the routing issues.

It still looks a mess at different zoom levels, which suggests there are “sync” errors here. This is when the server gets its knickers in a twist and some (“ghost”) segments display even though they have already been deleted. Sometimes only waiting a few days will resolve these issues. Can you keep it under review please?

Ok must be the roundabout I created and couldn’t save actually DID save. Unfortunately though the new roundabout is still there the rogue segments of road are back and the turns are back to being incorrect. I tried deleting the incorrect segments again and won’t let me save, I have managed to re-correct the tuens. I’ll leave it alone a few days and see what happens. Waze still wants to send me on Rogers Lane between Bridgend and Pyle instead of A48.

Nowt you can do about it I’m afraid, though if it persists for a while it might be worth raising a report with Waze HQ. It “should” go away by itself.

Looks like I rebuilt the roundabout, without the divided entry/exit for the A4106, on July 26th. Waze added updates up the 25th on August 8th, so that’s probably when the sync errors started happening. I’ve found quite a few of these problems all over the place.

Are you certain they’ll disappear over time, or should we have a thread recording sync errors from that time which Waze Support can be pointed at?

(I’m getting a short access to my daughter’s laptop while she’s watching a film. I updated my iPhone to the new version of Tapatalk a few days ago, and it’s pants. It’s crashed 3 times and won’t load the most recent post on any thread, otherwise I’d have added my 2p-worth yesterday).
