Hello all.
Found an issue with routing coming from Abq to eastern Tijeras. My home is off of NM 217 and Juan Tomas. Waze and Google Maps both route traffic from NM 337 and East on Juan Tomas. A few miles East of the campground, Juan Tomas becomes very tricky to drive on, like 4Wd, high clearance vehicle tricky! I have had delivery people get stuck back there!
Would guess that it needs to be marked as a road that isn’t available to cars or big trucks if you can do that?

Thanks for your report! I see that Juan Tomas Rd was updated just a few months ago to show that part of the road is unpaved. Do you have “Avoid Unpaved” selected in your app settings? You might want to ask your delivery drivers about their app settings too.
Going deeper into the problem, it would be helpful to know the precise starting and ending points of the route. If you’re not comfortable sharing it here in a public forum you can share the details with me privately at mhh60a@gmail.com ; then we’ll be able to do a better analysis.
As for trucks, Waze is intended for passenger car and motorcycles, not for trucks. The question is “Is the road passable by a typical sedan during normal conditions?” There are other apps and standalone GPS devices that are better suited for trucks.

Based on what you shared here, as well as further details in a DM, I’ve downgraded the unpaved portion of Juan Tomas Rd to “Off-Road/Not Maintained”.
