Routing to Hudson Springs Park

I have been battling these UR’s for Hudson Springs Park in Hudson Ohio https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lon=-81.42511&lat=41.25350&layers=1957&zoom=5&mapUpdateRequest=4773935
There has been a handful over the last 2 weeks.

For the life of me I can’t figure out why the stopping point keeps snapping to the Turnpike. Numerous reports of the Stop point being on the Turnpike for myself and the Various Op’s.
Google has the pin in the middle of the park, YET it routes fine. I have created and entrance, checked all the routes that COULD lead into the park. Can someone please look into it. and Explain to me what I need done. Most issues I post to the forums are just fixed. Which is great but I myself don’t learn from that.

Thanks in Advance

Welcome to Ohio editing!

If you are posting issues to the forum they will most likely be just fixed. If you are looking to edit more in Ohio I would recommend you join the Google Hangout we have for various areas of Ohio so you can work with other editors on issue such as this.

The problem with routing to this park/lake looks to be several fold.

  1. We cannot really control routing to Google pin locations for large area places such as parks, airports, schools, golf courses, etc. because Waze doesn’t have control over the stop point that is used for these, which is at the center of mass of the area. Nothing we can do about this. I always suggest the user use the Waze specific search results (the pin with a hole) when searching, especially for places such as those listed above.

  2. There are two search results for this place - Hudson Springs Park and Hudson Springs Lake, both of which have different stop locations.

  3. The Place in Waze should have Hudson Springs Lake as an alt name so it is possible for Wazers to use the Waze specific results to find this Place and use the correct stop point.

  4. It looks like GM (or another GM editor) has tried to get around their center of mass stop point by creating a separate park entrance (even though it looks to be in the incorrect location).

So, what can you do? Pretty much strongly suggest they use the Waze specific search. This is really the only thing that can be done. I have moved the park pin in GMM but that most likely will be rejected upon review.
