School Zones won't update

New WME v.2.297 - #12 by TheDarkAngel7?

The issue is that if I open an existing community schedule to edit and click through all the pages, you get a “failed to generate schedule” error.

NOTE: this only happens on schedules that have the “no end date” checked.

Happen is both Production and Beta

Hello @jm6087,

Thank you for the report. We have an internal ticket open to investigate this issue. I will keep you posted on the progress.

Take care and regards,
Olesya

This also happens with new community schedules. I tested by creating a new one from scratch and it wouldn’t save either.

I get the same result even when I set an end date.

It appears to be anything over 1 year.

In this video, I set the date range as 6/1/2025 to 5/31/2026 and recurring and it saved.
I changed the end date to 6/1/2026 and it failed.
I changed it again to 4/5/2026 and it saved fine.

I just noticed that the date doesn’t matter if you are changing it within the school zone, not if it is the date within the community schedule.

Here is an example: US-PA-Big Spring SD
PL: https://waze.com/en-US/editor?env=usa&lat=40.17471&lon=-77.40328&marker=true&zoomLevel=18&permanentHazards=344866

We don’t have the daily hours within the community schedules. We break them out for each building.

Thank you for the additional information @jm6087 It noticed it also fails when you apply the same conditions to local schedules, I have added this scenario to the internal ticket as well.

Best regards,
Olesya

If you go to edit an existing community schedule that does not have any dates entered, enter a date, then click save, you get an error “Failed to generate schedule” and are unable to save.

Hi,

I’m experiencing an issue when trying to configure school zones with custom schedules in the Waze Map Editor.

I can only successfully save predefined schedules. When I try to use custom hours, the schedule doesn’t get saved. If I select a predefined schedule, it does save correctly, but modifying the times afterward doesn’t work.

Sometimes, we even receive errors like this one:
“timeframes[0].timeframe.recurrence is a required field”

I discussed this with another editor, @MisterLogik , and he is experiencing the exact same issue on his side.
Has anyone else encountered this? Is it a known bug, or is there a workaround?

Thanks in advance !

Same here https://waze.com/fr/editor?env=row&lat=45.73156&lon=4.66314&zoomLevel=18

It’s same everywhere. When u want create a planning without general planning.
Another example, I want create the schedule : 7:00 - 18:00. And when I save, the planning is lost.

Thank you @RussPA for verifying the fix. :folded_hands:

Since the beta fix, there is no error message in PROD. The change just fails.

Just an FYI until the fix makes it to PROD too.

Hi @nzahn1,

Many thanks for your feedback. Could you please specify which use case you are referring to: community/local schedule? Can you also check if you see an error in the console when it fails to update? A screenshot of the console error (if there is one) will be much appreciated.

Best regards,
Olesya

I just tested in Beta and it works like a charm now.

I tested in Production as well, but I am still seeing the error message as expected until released to Production.

Weird. Mine just kept resulting in a blank left pane, with only the default schedule after I hit save.
