Good afternoon. How can I be granted map editing permissions? I work in Law Enforcement and can contribute quite a bit to the map. Thanks.

Hello. See my signature line for a link to join our discord SER chat. To answer your question however, you should already have map editing enabled around your drives where you were using waze. Basically one mile on either side of your previous drives (they expire after around 90 days so any drives in the last 90 days) should be available to you now. But i do recommend you join us. Editing is fun and it’s nice to know you’re helping people but there are some things that are not intuitive. So come join us and we’ll help you get started.

Hi, I recently tried to login to the Waze map editor but have been unsuccessful. Waze has advised me there is a lock on my account. I have never attempted to be an editor before so I was wondering how to verify if there is a lock on my account and why?

@WendalAShaw I don’t show that you have ever edited (as you stated), did you previously have a different waze name? I do not see that we have ever requested to block you from editing…I looked back to 2014. Did waze mention why you were locked? Thanks.

I do not recall having a different Waze name. I am sure I have been using Waze longer than 5 years when it shows I joined.

This is what I received from the Waze help desk. “It appears that you’re unable to log in to Waze Map Editor due to a block on your Waze account. You can further check with the local editors about what you’re banned for. You can reach out to them via Community Forums.”

Hi, the speed limit on a road near me is not accurate on one portion. It shows as 40 mph when it should be 35 mph.

What is the procedure for getting this updated?

Hi. I drive that way often and keep forgetting to change that section to 35MPH. I just made the change. Thanks for the nudge. Not sure why you were unable to make the change, it is obviously in your Edit Area (EA) and you are not blocked. Anyway, it is done and Thanks!

Hello,

I tried editing a couple of speed limit changes on my route to and from work. Not sure how to do it nor could find a way to do it so I just left a comment at each point. I’m only level 1 so maybe that has something to do with it.
