Hello just wanted to know as the app alerts you to the normal speed camera we have had for years. Would it be possible to map edit and show where theses stealth cameras are situated.
I don’t know if many of you have seen or heard of stealth cameras.
They slowly popping up around the London area and the first I knew about this, is when I was reading an article from the RAC.
I have now seen two of them in north London, Hendon.
And the way they work is reading your speed while you drive up to them and again as you pass.
so have forward and rear facing cameras on one grey post. And it measures your speed in them few metres.
Very discrete. Theres no signs to say they are there.
As this would be useful on the map as another government cash cow is in place. 100£ and 3 points.
I know the HADECS3 and the Sicore (Safezone) cameras are popping up a lot.
I think the problem is Streetview is out of date for many of these new cameras and probably don’t get approved.
Local knowledge is great and I’ve added or approved both of the above in areas I know.
I’ve placed and approved a few HADECS cameras on the M6 as they are usually placed on the outside edge of gantries and mostly hidden from view.
If they are a speed cameras and their location is known then they will be added. Some people have been submitting General Error reports so that they can add a note stating camera locations.
Some of them are now turning yellow, not many though. there are a couple of yellow ones on the M25 near Waltham Cross and a couple of yellow on the M62 near Bradford.
they are all supposed to be visible, but can’t remember what the timescale for them is.
