I’ve just noticed the last couple of days that ‘TiRakau Dr(ive)’ is reported as “Ti Rakau Doctor”.

That will tidy the names up in most cases.
I see they prefer Lane, not Ln.
As long as when the list is submitted, we all stick to the new standard it will be all good!
yes, “HWY” is not working either
Did you notice that list had “SH” for “State Highway”.

To hear the most current TTS results from your Waze client device, it is necessary to clear your current TTS cache. Enter “cc@tts” (case sensitive) without quotes in the Navigation search to clear the cache. Waze should reply with a “TTS cache has been cleared!” popup box.
This will also re-download the language. Kate UK has the best “Maori” pronunciation I’ve heard.
I’ve got the email address (WazeHQ) I’m just not sure what I want to say?
The problem is I really want to set a proper standard based on AS/NZS 4819:2011 but I don’t have a copy of it and it costs $170.
I’m thinking about purchasing it but that a lot of money for something somebody else is going to make money from (Google).
In thinking about asking WazeHQ if they will pay for it? but I’m not sure how to word it?
I was also after input from OZ but I don’t think they care…
So I’m just in the thinking stage

Waze has purchased AS/NZS 4819 for us
We are now creating an abbreviation list for New Zealand
haven’t had time to full study yet

What would we use for “motorway, expressway & extension” ?
AS/NZS 4819:2011 has different abbreviations for NZ and OZ
The Oz List is twice the size as ours
AS/NZS 4819:2011 has no reference for them? either NZ or OZ
The only abbreviation that I have added that is not in AS/NZS 4819:2011 is SH (State Highway)
can you link an example?
The question is where do you want to draw the line?
There is over 200 - 300 + possible abbreviations
If you want to get crazy we could include all the NZ post abbreviations as a second source
