Street view viewport occasionally shows the last view

Reported initially in the WME prod 2.331 release thread

Street view jumping to another area is sort of still happening.

Completed some edits, including accessing WME street view, in Mossley Hill Road Liverpool (here). 15 minutes later tried to access street view im Greenford London (here). While WME stayed over the Greenford London location, where previous to this version release it would’ve jumped to the Liverpool location, the displayed street view imagery was still of the previous Liverpool location.

So, doesn’t jump to old location any more, but street view image offered is not of the requested location.

WME production, in Firefox.

Hi @IP4883,

Thank you for the comment and for the additional testing. Does the issue happen with scripts disabled or/ and on other browsers (Chrome is preferred)? Could you please check when you have a chance?

Nataliia

What I’ve noticed is the WME map doesn’t shift anymore to the previous location, but the street view viewport still occasionally shows the last view

Definitely less annoying as it doesn’t completely ruin workflow but not 100% fixed, I’ll try to get a video of it happening

As pasciakd mentioned, while WME no longer shifts the map unless you interact with street view, street view occasionally displays the location used on the previous attempt rather than the location I want to use it at. It does not occur on every use, but it happens enough that it is an annoyance and time-consuming since it requires refreshing the editor.

Hello @pasciakd @apeachypanda,

As mentioned in the other thread, the bug you’ve described has been reported internally and it’s being looked into. I’ll keep you posted on further updates.

Anyway, I have to admit, this bug isn’t as bad as the previous one. Since it doesn’t send the cursor to the wrong coordinates and only shows the last image from the last location, it’s not too disruptive because I can just re-drag the pointer while the Street View window is open.

Still, that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be prioritized for fixing; a fix should be implemented for this bug.

Hello all,

I hope you’re keeping well.
I’d just like to follow up on this bug - if it’s still reproducible for you, would you be able to capture it in a video or share any other additional information such as permalinks, scripts etc.

Thank you and regards,
Olesya

It happens a lot more often now - I find myself having to refresh my browser every 5-10 mins or so if I am checking a lot of streets for widths etc. The street view handle itself teleports back to the previous location, but no longer moves the whole map.

In this video you can see it happens to me at the start, fixes itself, then happens again and does not recover. I sped up some bits where nothing much was happening. My session had been running for around 5 mins at this point, just doing some light editing and dropping the handle in various places.

Scripts: Toolbox, WME ClickSaver, WME JAI, WME SpeedHelper, WME Smart Connect Fill, WME E85

Thank you for your feedback @tbrks , the video is much appreciated. I’ll update the team accordingly.
Could you also share the location permalink (the bit where the the SV handle teleported back to the previous location)?

Best,
Olesya

Yeah sure, it was here: https://waze.com/en-GB/editor?env=row&lat=34.00525&lon=130.92834&marker=true&zoomLevel=18

I want to be clear though this issue is completely location-agnostic and is 100% not based on any specific location in the editor

Thank you @tbrks at this point every detail matters as it’s not too obvious what this bug stems from.
