Hi,

We’ve received a map update request to Waze support and we’re posting here on the user’s behalf. The link to this post will be forwarded for the user to follow up.

This is the user’s request:
I’d like to ask that a road is avoided on Waze as it is currently dangerous.

I was directed down from Sheep Lane, MK17 9HD to do a right down an unnamed country lane. This road is absolutely riddled with potholes. Unfortunately, I hit one and have caused significant damage to my car. I was the second car being recovered down there after a second car had the same issue, and a third car driving the other way told me he had hit a pothole further up the road and had a burst tyre as a result.

Not only did I miss the event that I was trying to attend, I now how an incredibly expensive bill that I can’t afford to pay.

Having tried to report this pothole to the local council, I have found numerous similar reports of potholes and damage caused. However this road is not under the jurisdiction of a local authority so there is no obligation for them to fix it.

Please, please put a warning on Waze about potholes (I couldnt find a way to do this from home now I am no longer in the location) or avoid sending people down this road to save a couple of minutes.Edit Description

Contrary to what the requester says, this road is maintainable by the local council, as confirmed in this link: https://www.findmystreet.co.uk/map?usrn=25202611. They need to go back to the council and put in another complaint.

I have enabled the unpaved road attribute on this road. The user must enable the Avoid Unpaved Road option in their app settings. I have also added a Pot Hole hazard on the Partner Tool.
