I have notice that several users post a chat without any comment or with garbage comments; just to earn points. Sadly, this fills with garbage the whole system and the map.
My suggestion is to not give point by posting a chit chat message, but instead give points based on the amount of answers and discussion it generates; this way it would be more possible that there were more valuable posts.
I agree to not give points for chit-chat. If it was changed to only give points for chats with replies, the cheaters would just start working together to reply to each other’s chats.
Hello. Is anyone knows how to “unabuse” the user? The one was reported as abused accidentally. And since that time can’t reseive see any messages from that wazer.
personally i think there should be an addition to teh score based on reputation. Accuracy of self-reporting (police, accidents…). Chit Chat serves a purpose. What if you see something like a posting that this is a week for speed traps in a general area? As is the case here in Michigan. Chit Chat is a nice way to send an ALL HANDS message alerting everyone.
There should be a way to add more reputation both minus and plus. Spammers can get naild for what they doing and those doing well can get rewarded.
of course this is volunteer based and someone will always game the system…even well intentioned people because at the end of it we want high scores and competition sets in. So no way is perfect but I think we should seek the way to isolate/minimize the aduses and try to encourage accurate reporting.
I use to report as abuse the users not responding at its own pings
Maybe an easy solution is: 0 points for the first ping and, if someone respond to it, 9 points for the second one.
With this and the actual limitation of the number of ping you can send in ten minutes, at least, we can reduce the number of pinggers only for points (not answering them…)
