In the past in Israel, we often inserted pronunciation marks in Hebrew (NIKUD) to the street names in order to force the right pronunciation, and it worked well. Lately, we used the NIKUD to check the pronunciation wth NIKUD, so that we’ll be able to communicate with the TTS staff how the word should be pronounced. Now we cannot do that anymore in cases where the street name exists already without NIKUD.
There are workarounds that I know about (but not everyone knows about them):
- Open am Incognito window -> Write the letters & NIKUD in some other place outside of the WME -> Copy/paste the letters & NIKUD to the address field in WME.
- Delete the street name and select “None” and then enter a name that is not present in the suggestion dropdown menu, I can add NIKUD and it stays. But if the name is present in the menu then, the NIKUD cannot be added, and at least one letter should be changed (such as a space at the end).
Please bring back the ability to add NIKUD in the street name in Hebrew.
