We want everyone to be on the same page with TIO’s. Any TIO edit of a freeway/ramp/major highway must be approved by Dude463 and I. There have been a lot that have come to our attention that weren’t needed or the TIO was set wrong. If you are unsure about a TIO please ask.
I had added some when I noticed you could be traveling south on Lewisville Highway in central Clark County and not be given any kind of turn instruction until directed to exit I-5 somewhere in Portland or beyond. The transitions included Lewisville Hwy / NW-SW 10th Ave / NE 112th Ave / NE 117th Ave / SR-500 / I-5. Most of the above transitions are same-direction, intuitive, but the changes in heading to head west on SR-500 and then south on I-5 are notable.
SR-500 to I-5 south https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lon=-122.66034&lat=45.64672&zoom=6&segments=506996539
I had placed one here to show the transition from SR-500 to I-5, but it is gone now, I see Brandin edited this segment the day this thread posted. Previously to that TIO there had been a wayfinder back at this split that gave verbal indication of a Keep Left to announce the change from SR-500 to I-5.
Should the Continue TIOs be removed from the 117th/SR-500 junction? I had added these under the premise of the reducing confusion for the same reasons we use Continue to on ramp segments, to provide some sort of a transitional step.
What segments on that intersection need TIO’s? It looks pretty straight forward.
Looking at that ramp you have to go straight to get onto I-5. Adding a continue would just make it say continue to I-5 S. The default says to I-5 S. IF there were multiple ways between transition then it would be useful but it doesn’t look like it in that case. We really want to use continue straight in spots where it would be super confusing like shown here in the wiki. https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/USA/Turn_instruction_override#Continue_onto_on-ramp
I dont see any at that junction. Any questions about ramp just give PL and let us know.
