Hello, I work for a municipality. We have a road closed and Waze refuses to use our official detour. I understand for the most part and for the most part, I don’t care. However, the route they are sending people is to a steep hill where the intersection does NOT meet engineering guidelines and should absolutely not be used as a detour route. It is a 3 way stop (4 directions of roads) with traffic going up the hill having the right of way, reduced sightlines and overall very complex for unfamiliar users.
I had tried flagging this just to avoid these intersections. The comment I received back did NOT look at the intersections I suggested and instead looked at the other intersections (on the closed road where traffic merges back). I want to know if there’s any suggestions of what else I can do. I don’t care if it doesn’t follow the detour route exactly, I am just trying to avoid these intersections.
